PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The EU Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) function is scaling up its apprenticeship programs across Europe, specifically in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and Slovakia. We are searching for experienced technical apprenticeship managers to support this expansion.

This role is specifically focused on supporting Germany.

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering Apprentice Manager is responsible for creating technical apprentice programs to generate the core of our future workforce. The role will be responsible for creating, rolling out and running programs in their assigned country(s) and will work alongside other Apprentice Managers as part of an EU wide program. The role will have responsibility for reviewing existing pilot programs, working with the Engineering function, Human Resources, Public Relations and central Apprentice teams to create scalable programs and will then drive significant growth in the scheme to support the ever-expanding Reliability Maintenance Engineering network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Knowledge and ability to improve existing programs and deliver an industry best-in-class engineering apprenticeship scheme with formal program targets both in workplace and college based learning.
· To work closely with the central apprenticeship team to ensure alignment with other Amazon apprenticeship programs
· Work with central recruitment and PR teams to attract the best apprentices
· Work with vendors, colleges and internal staff to promote a Safety First culture from day 1
· Create and deliver country specific onboarding programs for each cohort of new apprentices
· Act as the line manager for apprentices during any extended periods of off-site training
· Develop and coach apprentice mentors and managers throughout the program
· React to escalations and learner issues throughout the program to ensure all apprentices succeed in the program and graduate as bar-raising Amazon maintenance technicians
· Ensure performance management policies and processes are applied where relevant
· Provide periodic reporting of the scheme progress and individual learner performance to the central apprenticeship team and the Engineering business
· Work with the central team in managing and forecasting program budgets
· Additional tasks as required to support the growth of the program

The role will be based in an Amazon facility in Germany. The specific location is flexible and will be discussed with the successful candidate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience running apprentice programs in Germany.
· A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or experience in an Amazon Engineering team at L5.
· Excellent communications skills (written & verbal) in English and German.
· Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
· Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools
