Amazon Marketplace is one of the fastest growing businesses within Amazon. There are over 2 million merchants, ranging from students selling their text books to nation-wide retail chains, selling on Amazon's international marketplaces. Collectively, these merchants are responsible for selling about 40% of all items ordered from Amazon.com world-wide. services.amazon.com is the destination online for sellers to learn, sign-up and to grow their business with Amazon.

We are a core technology team that builds self-service tools powered by Machine Learning intelligence for Sellers to grow their Brands on Amazon. Our technology powers many high impact traffic and conversion tools like deals, coupons, advertising, enhanced brand and product content. You'll be building a real-time advertising product recommendation platform with complex business rules, validation and feedback loops including intuitive seller facing self-service experiences.

We are looking for a well-rounded Applied Scientist with a proven track record of solving challenging Machine Learning problems and creating great personalized recommendations for our sellers and brand owners to help grow their business. The candidate should be someone who can work well in a heterogeneous environment of vast data sets and related data processing technologies.

We are seeking someone who has strong technical and statistical skills with a can-do attitude and a passion for solving complex Machine Learning problems.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
· M.S. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Computational Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field and at least 3 years work experience
· Experience in designing analytic and/or algorithmic solutions to business or operational problems
· Experience working with relational databases and SQL in a real-world context
· Ability to clean, transform, and merge your own data in a procedural language like Python or R
