DESCRIPTION

Amazon is excited to be attending Grace Hopper this year in Houston! We will be hosting a networking event and it will feature speakers from Amazon talking about things they are leading and building at Amazon. This will also be an opportunity to meet with Amazonians from various teams along with other professionals and attendees from GHC 2018.

Date: Thursday, September 27th 2018
Time: 6:00-8:00 pm

The ideal candidate is creative, demonstrated leader/manager with superior analytical abilities. This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. This candidate should possess verifiable leadership qualities including being proactive, thoughtful, thorough, decisive, and flexible, conducting themselves professionally and with integrity at all times. The candidate is not just a policy maker/spokesperson but drives to get the right things done. At the core of the position is delivery. You will have a strong working knowledge of Program Management technologies and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Qualified candidates have experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets; as well as analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout the organization.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 6+ years of experience in security, software engineering, compliance, or process management work in support of a technical environment
· Experience in managing complex projects or programs at scale
· 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry
· 1+ years' experience working with Agile development process
· 2+ years experience writing clear, organized project planning and implementation documentation
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, other related fields, or equivalent experience
· Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications
· 7 years experience in system software/hardware design and development, including technical program leadership of computer systems, storage systems, storage devices, or related field
· Experience coordinating cross functional teams in both hardware and software engineering
· Experience building processes, project management, and release schedules
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline
