Amazon.com is seeking qualified candidates to join our Export Capability Development team. Amazon.com reaches customers around the globe on all seven continents. We are developing export capabilities and processes to enable Amazon to ship any exportable product to any eligible customer anywhere in the world. We will build scalable processes required to support our growth plans and thrill our current and future global customers.

In our effort to build export capabilities worldwide, we are looking for a passionate Business Analyst to turn data into actionable insights, support answering strategic business questions, and participate in taking business and functional requirements and translating these requirements into scalable solutions that are supported by the overall data architecture. The Business Analyst must possess strong analytical, communication and project management skills. The role will mine and analyze data that supports business cases, product roadmaps, and performance deep dives. This individual should be able to hit the ground running by analyzing root causes, determining and implementing long-term solutions, and supporting teams with advanced analytical, mathematical, and quantitative capabilities.

Responsibilities will include:
· Retrieve and analyze data using Oracle SQL, Excel and other data management systems
· Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
· Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when and which to use
· Develop and propose new metrics, recommend strategies to stakeholders for improved business results, and work across the organization to make actionable intelligence available to business stakeholders
· Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of projects and initiatives
· Conduct deep dive investigations into business problems and identify potential opportunities
· Identify and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
· Work across Amazon Global Logistics and other stakeholders to identify new features and projects based on data insights
· This is an individual contributor role that will partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete solutions
· Report key insight trends using statistical rigor to simplify and inform the larger team of noteworthy story lines

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline
· Strong proficiency in advanced excel, SQL, VBA, and Tableau
· Proficiency at querying and creating simple relational databases
· Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment
· Ability to create automated metrics using complex databases
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be able to succinctly and accurately articulate complex data analysis in laymen's terms to a wide audience
· Self-motivated
· Organized
· Eager to educate others on best practices in an ever-changing environment
· Ability and desire to build new processes from the ground up in a highly ambiguous environment
