Entreprise:
The Lifecycle and Mobile Devices team defines, builds, deploy and supports technology solutions aimed at provisioning computers, software and mobile devices to business users in the Group. Under the supervision of the Team Coordinator, the Packaging Engineer will develop, test and support installation packages for Windows (desktop and Universal) applications as well as macOS applications, according to the team standards and following the established packaging processes.
Poste et missions:
? Packaging request processing:
- Validate packaging requests
- Perform application discovery to determine compatibility and compliancy with packaging standards
- Develop the package
- Perform internal Quality Assurance testing of the package
- Coordinate and follow up with User Acceptance Testing
- Keep the application owner/requestor up to date on the processing of the packaging request
? Packaging support:
- Process L3 tickets escalated to the Lifecycle Engineering team and related to software installation with packaged applications
- Transfer knowledge to the FTS team on Packages supported by the team
- Investigate application compatibility issues and propose remediation
? Other operational activities:
- Process central deployments tasks
- Maintain the global application catalog
- Proactively identify packaging needs and create packaging requests for software centrally managed
- Support the packaging coordinator with monthly and annual reporting on the packaging activity
Profil:
Packaging technologies
- Basic knowledge of MSI/Windows Installer technology
- Ability to create transform files to implement custom (MS Orca):
o Registry settings
o Files
o Properties
- Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit/Shim creation
- Knowledge of one or more commercial packaging tools is an asset (Wise/Admin Studio)
- Jamf Composer
Software Distribution
- Software Deployments with SCCM (Applications and Packages)
- Universal Apps application model for Windows 10
Troubleshooting and support
- Windows Level 3 troubleshooting and support skills
- SCCM and Windows Installer troubleshooting and log analysis
- Sysinternals tools
- Basic Performance Analysis tools
- GPOs (desirable)
Languages
Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken) is essential for this role because the person will be part of an international distributed team.
