Purpose of the role

Customer Management is the ultimate airline departure control system (DCS) to master the end-to-end customer experience at the airport and beyond. We are looking for a motivated & experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to work on our mission-critical Baggage application, within our industry leading airline passenger servicing ecosystem, that provides check-in, baggage and boarding services to approximately 125 airlines and 838 million airline passengers each year (and growing).

You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and interact with disruption, printing, acceptance, ancillary, BRS (Baggage Reconciliation System) and FM (Flight Management).

Key Responsibilities

Main responsibilities

As a QA Engineer within AIR-CMG-CMB department, you will be responsible for the testing and quality of new baggage products which are core to the mission-critical Altea CM application.

• Test products in order to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity, performing functional sign off & ensuring product performs cohesively at all touchpoints.

• Work with business analysts to help review and analyse business requirements to develop effective test strategies and propose robust solutions from a QA perspective.

• Take an active role in the CM QA community, sharing recommendations and best practices, ensuring a consistent approach to automated testing, re-using testing modules & scripts where possible.

• Contribute to innovation initiatives and work with peers, put forward ideas for product evolution based on industry trends & standards.

Ensure quality of deliveries

• Responsible for creating & executing test plans in order to ensure compliance of the software delivery and system integrity, meeting expectations of functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with other systems.

• Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalise the product.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Participate in all aspects of testing: integration, functional, regression, load/performance, automation and system testing

• Develop and maintain automated testing scripts, working to improve the coverage for core baggage functionality in Altea CM.

Coordination & collaboration

• Coordinate product demos for client, as well as internally for all stakeholders.

• Maintain timely reports on status of projects, potential technical problems and any other relevant details

• Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.

• Manage and troubleshoot defects to resolution while proactively identifying risks to management

Job Holder Profile

Education - A degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, or other significant industry experience

Relevant work experience

• Analytical skills / ability to provide synthetic views adapted to your audience

• Some knowledge and (ideally) experience in Agile Scrum methodology.

• Experience with QA automation tools including scripting (Test Tool Server, ALM, Jira, UFT)

Business understanding

General knowledge of Airline business and Travel Agency IT business is a plus.

Skills

Computing

• Test Tool Server knowledge is a plus.

• Experience with QA automation tools including scripting

Specific knowledge

• Some knowledge and (ideally) experience in Agile Scrum methodology.

Others

• Test Tool Server / ALM/JIRA knowledge is a plus.

• Experience with QA automation tools (UFT) including scripting.
