Responsibilities

We are looking for a QA/Test Release Engineer to work on our world leading airline passenger servicing system - a system that provides check-in and boarding services to over 130 airlines and 800 million airline passengers each year.

The role is based in our quality and releasing team at our London Heathrow development center. You will be part of a cross-functional department that includes front-end and back-end software engineers and system release managers.

The role will involve a range of day-to-day responsibilities in the Quality Assurance, Test System Support and Releasing areas.

You will:

· Own and co-ordinate the test-system problem analysis process, working with software engineers and system operators to identify the root causes of test system incidents and co-ordinate solutions to prevent re-occurrence. You will be the main point of contact between our division and the Amadeus central test-system support teams. Jointly you will improve the quality and stability of our system on test.
· Co-ordinate weekly test release activities
· Execute quarterly QA brush tests focusing on both desktop and ipad user interfaces to assure the quality of the departure control system before it is released into production.
· Execute test data creation scripts and provide test plan documents to prepare the system for third-party certification testing.
· Automate existing manual test cases in HP UFT/ALM or QFT where relevant.
· Collaborate with software engineers to bring a QA perspective to new feature development. Identify, create and execute new functional test scenarios, both manual and automated.
· Play an active role in our London QA community by sharing good practices and experiences with other QA engineers.

Requirements

We are interested in people who can demonstrate some (but not all) of the following:

· Test system management and test data management.
· Release management.
· Hands-on experience of manual testing from initial risk analysis through to test planning, test execution and defect tracking.
· (ideally) hands-on experience of test automation on desktop applications using tools such as HP ALM, HP UFT scripting, QFT, Selenium would be a bonus.
· Hand-on experience with HP ALM or other test management tools.
· ISTQB qualified
· We believe in aiming for excellence, taking responsibility, working together and putting our customers first. We need you to display these qualities too.
· Excellent interpersonal skills – you will work with operations and development teams on a daily basis.
