Purpose of the Role

Has the responsibility for delivery of specified tasks. Analyses and specifies requirements and test plans as part of the delivery of projects. Undergoes intensive functional training both on the job and in classroom.

Main Responsibilities:

1- Planning:

• Responsible for small to medium sized projects within the product development team. Participating in any or all of the following areas: functional specification, functional test, user acceptance test, production system verification and functional support to the customer.

• Ensuring delivery to agreed time scales.

• Regularly reporting progress to the supervisor on assigned work.

• Recording time accurately.

2 - Delivery:

• Interface and communicate with Application Development and Product Management teams to maintain functional knowledge in order to permit test plan design and functional testing of bug fixes.

• Report and analyse problems for functional tests.

• Size specification and testing phases for small, projects.

• Participate in functional analysis of small changes.

• Design solutions for small, processes.

• Has responsibility for producing functional specifications, writing test plans, conducting testing, recording results and functional sign-off for any testing undertaken.

• Produce high quality documentation, using standard templates, that is clear and easy for the target audience to understand.

• Participate in review of change requests and change proposals and feasibility studies for small projects.

• Participate in communication with relevant departments to identify interaction with other Amadeus packages and assure functional compatibility.

• Bug analysis.

• Participate in functional product reviews with the Development team and Product Management for small projects.

• For Community based products, where there is no specific end-user to perform User Acceptance Test following Functional Verification Test, take on this role.

• Verify the specific functionality of the product once it is loaded.

• Provide functional support for Customers and Product Management in areas which analyst has tested.

Business Knowledge

• Gain an overview knowledge of the business area (e.g. Departure Control System Check-in and Boarding, Departure Control System Weight and Balance, Reservations or Inventory).

• Gain detailed knowledge in specific areas where project experience has been gained

• Build an understanding of the relationships between work processes and the business.

• Keep up to date with industry standards, product changes, developments and needs.

• Actively grow knowledge of new business areas.

Procedural Knowledge

• Gain an appreciation of the standards of work required, project life cycle and Amadeus methodologies.

• Participate in the maintenance of interface and communication with representatives of business units to inform them about product development.

• Understand the specific and evolving environment configuration required to support functional testing.

Working with Others

• Work cooperatively with others to achieve team goals.

• Build stable and useful working relationships

Skills Development

• Achieve agreed development milestones with regard to on the job training.

• Ask questions, check for understanding and provide clear and precise explanations.

• Attend and achieve required standards in classroom training.

Education

Degree level or equivalent.

Relevant work experience

No previous work experience is necessary, however an Internship or Work placement, may be an advantage.

Skills

Computing: Familiar with Desktop office software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, knowledge of UML may be an advantage.
