Role overview
Join Allianz Services’ CTO area (PS&I) as an AI & Hyperautomation Engineer and help design, build, and scale AI-powered solutions that transform core business processes across Allianz. You will work end-to-end—from opportunity discovery and proof-of-concepts to production rollout—focusing on GenAI applications (e.g., RAG and agentic workflows) on Azure/AWS with Python and SQL.
You’ll set the foundations for reliable delivery (Git, testing, CI/CD, MLOps/LLMOps, monitoring, evaluation), optimize for performance and cost, and embed responsible AI, security, and data privacy by design.
What you do:
- Design and build cloud-based AI solutions on Azure/AWS using Python and SQL—focusing on GenAI applications (e.g., RAG and agentic workflows) to deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Translate business needs into technical designs, lightweight delivery plans, and success metrics; manage tasks and timelines to meet agreed milestones.
- Develop proofs of concept and iterate them toward production with solid engineering practices (CI/CD, containerization), secure integrations (APIs/events), and data quality/privacy by design.
- Implement responsible AI guardrails (safety, privacy, evaluation), document decisions, and ensure compliance with Allianz security and governance standards.
- Instrument solutions for monitoring and analytics; optimize performance, reliability, and cost, and track impact against KPIs.
- Engage stakeholders across Allianz entities: gather requirements, create clear presentations/demos, document architectures and runbooks, and collaborate closely with Allianz Innovation teams.
- Identify and capitalize on AI opportunities to enhance current services and create new offerings.
- Proactively improve internal processes and service delivery; run small experiments, build prototypes, and pitch data-backed ideas with an entrepreneurial mindset to solve complex problems.
What you bring:
- Strong academic background; Master’s (or MBA) from a top university preferred.
- Strong technical skills: Python and SQL; ability to build LLM applications (prompting, RAG, embeddings, vector stores) and integrate APIs/services.
- Cloud experience with Azure or AWS AI services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) and basic IAM/security practices.
- Software engineering fundamentals: Git, testing, CI/CD, Docker; write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
- Structured problem-solving and analytical mindset; ability to break down complex problems and deliver testable solutions; entrepreneurial approach to prototyping and pitching ideas.
- Ability to bridge business and technology: gather requirements, translate them into technical designs/tasks, and communicate trade-offs and value clearly to stakeholders.
- Communication and collaboration in agile teams; strong writing and presentations; English proficiency (German B1+ is a plus for Munich). Relevant internships/research or experience in AI/ML or ML DevOps teams, exposure to insurance/high-tech, and cloud/AI/GenAI certifications are advantages.
- We highly welcome candidates with a genuine interest and affinity for Information Technology (IT) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), as these attributes are considered valuable assets to our team.
What we offer:
- We offer a hybrid work model which recognizes the value of striking a balance between in-person collaboration and remote working incl. up to 25 days per year working from abroad
- We believe in rewarding performance and our compensation and benefits package includes a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location)
- From career development and digital learning programs to international career mobility, we offer lifelong learning for our employees worldwide and an environment where innovation, delivery and empowerment are fostered
- Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits) support to balance family and career and help our people return from career breaks with experience that nothing else can teach.
