JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Assessments
Responsible for assessing loss control requirements by providing expertise, support and assistance to Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) and its varied customers (including governments, commercial enterprises and non-profit organizations). Complete desk top reviews/analysis and risk assessments (pre & post loss) for underwriting evaluating and summarizing exposure and controls, identify any issues and provide appropriate advice based on findings.

Consulting Services
Work with underwriting, claims, the client and the broker where appropriate devising and advising on risk solutions (including strategy, policy, procedural, physical and human element risks) and developing customized loss control programs including locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing service), scope and cost of risk consulting services.

Services Guidance
Generate and review required reports and recommendations. Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives.

Survey Analysis
Survey client operations obtain appropriate data, identify hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties. Analyze and interpret data and generate loss control reports, make recommendations etc.

3rd Party Support
Appoint / monitor 3rd parties ensuring adequate contract / controls in place with budgets agreed up front. Check and ensure quality of work provided by 3rd parties.

Projects
Assist AGCS and clients with respect to ongoing or specific projects. Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as required / appropriate.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (a degree / diploma in another subject will be considered in conjunction with extensive engineering/technical experience)
2 to 3 years' experience in loss prevention engineering in the Property sector
Good knowledge and professional experience in insurance business sectors and able to work on technical loss control topics
Demonstrable engineering/technical expertise
Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new technologies in your field
Strong communication skills, in English: ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally
Confident presentation skills in a varied environment
Organizational skills
Interpersonal skills
Able to travel on a regular basis, mostly within the UK but some international trips
