In this role, you will manage the interaction and oversight of custodians, securities lenders, and outsourced fund accounting. You will actively drive the coordination, management, and escalation of operational activities with AllianzGI's external service providers. You will be responsible for the success of these relationships and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

In this function, you will report to the Head of Fund Administration Support (FAS) Germany in Frankfurt.

This position will be based in our Frankfurt office.

What you will do

• Lead and moderate Service Review Boards with service providers and custodians, ensuring transparency and accountability
• Negotiate and review Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),  translating audit insights into measurable service excellence
• Participate in due diligence activities
• Design and enhance oversight frameworks and implement oversight frameworks for new markets, ensuring robust controls and compliance
• Act as a strategic liaison between internal teams and external partners (fund accountants, custodians, security lenders), resolving inquiries and ensuring seamless operations
• Be the go-to expert for fund accounting topics and regulatory initiatives impacting local gap (HGB) and IFRS 
• Drive regulatory change projects, overseeing the implementation of new requirements in fund accounting
• Manage escalations with a solution-oriented mindset, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and operational continuity
• Support the Head of FAS Germany in identifying process improvements, digital transformation opportunities, and preparing strategic reports and presentations

What you bring

• A university degree in economics or a related field, ideally with a focus on accounting or investment funds
• Several years of experience in auditing, consulting with exposure to asset management or fund structures or professional experience in the Back Office of a German Asset Manager
• A strong understanding of fund accounting systems, securities processing, and the end-to-end asset management value chain
• Skills honed through years of auditing fund structures and financial statements equip you to critically assess fund accounting entries, identify inconsistencies, and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards
• Confidence and seniority to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
• Analytical strength, a structured approach to problem-solving, and excellent communication skills
• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Microsoft PowerBI preferred
