JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in underwriting of new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets.
Proactively prepare relevant underwriting information including client/market research and claims data.
Assist in evaluation of Natural Catastrophe Accumulation (for relevant LoBs).
Assist in pricing of risks, using global tools as appropriate.
Provide proactive support to ensure Underwriting compliance in line with Liability governance framework (e.g., Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, and Rules and Principles).
Assist in ensuring contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception.
Proactively establish and maintain policy file (whether electronic or paper) for each risk and transaction handled.
Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to producer (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or producers has issued documentation (where producer responsibility).
Proactively support timely and accurate booking of policy premiums and credit control/ collection processes.
Proactively work with other functions (e.g., operations and credit control) to resolve outstanding accounts queries.
Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives.
Proactively develop relationships with internal functional areas involved in Underwriting process, including MMC, ARC, Claims, and Operations).
Develop and maintain relationships with producers at peer level.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Arts or Sciences;
Progress towards professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII or CPCU);
Ability to use general office application tools (e.g., Power Point, Excel, and Word);
Evidence of relationship building with brokers at peer group level;
Basic understanding of regional/local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape;
Basic understanding of Liability products and portfolio;
Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Liability;
Analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance;
Robust understanding of policy administration life cycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation;
Apply the knowledge of how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs;
Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages in verbal or written form;
Effectively express and display thoughts and ideas visually, using various tools;
Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority; and
Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, analyze, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions.
