JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management, Accounting and Reporting:

1. Effective and efficient implementation finance policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure consistency and transparency.
2. Timely preparation of monthly management reports, financial reports for individual company, statutory accounts for both IFRS and local GAAP in accordance with accounting standards, guidelines and legal requirements.
3. Manage new and existing regulatory requirements where appropriate and incorporate them into the financial and management accounts.
4. Manage the accounting function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets register.
5. Ensure all transactions are supported with proper approval and relevant supporting documents as well as recorded in the accounting system.
6. Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
7. Monitor and analyse the monthly operating results against budget.
8. Manage the annual audit process in conjunction with the appointed auditors to ensure statutory accounts are produced within the required deadlines.
9. Preparation of management reports that are appropriate for monitoring of financial and operational results performance.
10. Provide recommendations/improvements on various finance related processes and procedures.

Finance Systems Management:

1. Manage, develop and maintain all financial systems consistent with internal controls procedures and accounting policies and procedures.
2. Ensure the robustness of all finance systems taking into account any required enhancements and upgrades required.

Treasury and Investment:

1. Responsible for the approval of day to day treasury movements adhering to the appropriate financial policy and procedures i.e. fund management.
2. Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
3. Review investment processes and procedures to make appropriate amendments where necessary to ensure relevancy of current policies in relation to business and operational needs.
4. Ensure effective and efficient implementation of policies and practices pertaining to all investment matters to ensure consistency and transparency.

General Finance:

1. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, insurers and statutory bodies.
2. Any other ad-hoc requirements as and when required by the SVP.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor Degree in Accounting/ Professional Certificates i.e. ACCA/ICAEW/CPA.
2. 5 to 7 years working experience in insurance including at least 3 years in audit firm, preferably from Big 4/Insurance industry.
3. Knowledgeable in IFRS accounting standards, tax requirements and investments.
4. Computer literate and knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.

2. Positive, mature and self-motivated individual with can-do attitude and the ability to drive initiatives independently and yet be a team-player.
3. Meticulous with good attention to details, efficient, strong analytical & presentation skill and able to meet deadlines.
4. Good organizers and ability to prioritize workload.
5. A good technical know-how in Accounting System and Microsoft Office especially in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
6. Good command of English and report writing skills.
