Job Title : Business Analyst- Financial System Implementation  

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time

Position Reports To: Head of Accounting and Financial reporting

Department:  Finance

Location: AGL Head Office, Maple House, Temple Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.



Allianz Global Life dac (“AGL”) is a rapidly growing cross-border life insurer with products sold into the French, Italian and German markets, and, more recently Greek and Lithuanian markets. It also reinsures a portfolio of variable annuities sold in Taiwan and Japan. Its goal is to expand into other markets over the coming years, while also continuing to expand its product range. It currently writes unit linked, variable annuity and protection business.


Main Purpose of the Job

Initially the role will primarily contribute on behalf of AGL to the global Allianz “Simplifi” project- a multi-year, cross-functional project, the objective of which is to harmonise accounting and reporting processes across all Allianz entities. This will be achieved by a redesign/replacement of the various finance technological platforms  (SAP etc.) and establishment of a Global Data platform to enhance reporting capabilities. Locally this role will also support AGL in its various financial transformation activities such as development and maintenance of its Data Warehouse system, system and process migrations and product launches.




·  Partner with stakeholders to develop analysis and documentation of existing process.


·  Work with stakeholders to define financial transformation requirements regarding the Data Pool.


·  Analyse data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.


·  Understand and translate business needs into new data models.


·  Support in implementation of direct interfaces and feeder systems.


·  Design SAP GL /subledger processes that enhance workflows and data management.


·  Align E2E processes with integrated systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA and FioneerPosting Gateway) and the big picture.


·  Craft insightful Power BI reports that simplify complex financial data.

·  Internal - AGL Finance Department including CFO Allianz Group Accounting Team.

Business Competencies

Education and Qualifications: Have a strong academic record including a third level degree. Accounting or Finance qualification would be advantageous.


Professional Competence: 5+ years working as a Business Analyst supporting finance transformation and system implementation projects in a cross functional environment.


Product & Technical Knowledge: SAP Accounting system ; front and back-end system familiarity, knowledge of life assurance products. Familiarity with  S/4 HANA, SAP ECC (FI/CO) SQL, AZURE, Power BI strongly desired.


Management: Self-manage multiple priorities, routine work and urgent issues.   


Commercial Awareness: Clear understanding of key business processes and strategic goals.

Personal Impact: Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.


Intellectual Effectiveness: Good analytical skills, technical knowledge.


Communication : Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Fluency in written and spoken English. Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders on various hierarchy levels.


Dealing with people: Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
