Job description
CABIN MODIFICATION ENGINEER
The role of the Cabin Modification Engineer will be to analyze the Aircraft cabin modification request and perform an engineering study to state the current status/configuration of the Aircraft (or fleet). Then to develop relevant design solutions and create related drawing sets using CAD tool.
To provide technical assistance during Aircraft modification embodiment remotely or on the Aircraft when requested.
Tasks
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Analyze aircraft configuration and research solutions for aircraft cabin conversion.
Create Manufacturing and Installation drawings for equipment’s such as Galleys, Stowage, Doghouses, Partitions, General Layout, Cabin View Investigation, PAX , CAS , Seat Track Cover, Floor Covering, Overhead stowage compartments (Bins), Curtains, PSU, Placards… in accordance with design solutions
Create and check Bill of Materials meets expectations and matches design
Proactively identify and resolve technical problems and develop optimal solutions to meet specification through the use of appropriate tools.
Discuss technical issues with clients and internal stakeholders
Create electrical and installation designs
Communicate effectively with team members
Report progress on tasks as required to immediate supervisor or project manager.
Make technical decisions and establish the best solutions/approach for the required technical change.
Support in the creation of Aircraft Modification Technical Offers
Be able to apply general principles and experience to solve complex problems.
This role may involve travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
This position requires a commitment to act with integrity and to be aware of any potential compliance risks.
Required skills
Educated to degree/HND level (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft modification
Good understanding of Airbus’ cabin upgrades ecosystem from offer phase to embodiment support
Good knowledge of Airbus methodologies and standards for creation of engineering drawings for cabin conversion for long range/ Single Aisle projects
Extensive experience on feasibility studies and solution proposal for mechanical and/or electrical systems (ATA21, ATA23, ATA24, ATA25, ATA26, ATA31, ATA33, ATA34, ATA35, ATA38, ATA44, ATA46, ATA92, etc) modification related to cabin conversions
Extensive experience with AIRBUS Specific tools such as: CCD / CATIA V4/ V5 / TAKSY/ SEE XP/ GILDA / VPM / ICC / Zamiz / SAP Production
Interpretation of 2D and 3D drawings
Good coordination and relational skills to deal with team members, customers and partners.
System engineering principles - experience on electrical systems Design Concepts (would be a plus)
