Background

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and business orientated individual with an excellent track record in identifying and mitigating cyber security risks. As an experienced and technically competent professional you will deliver key tasks and services aligned to national security authority requirements. Additionally, you will play a key role in delivering Group (European) level solutions through successful project delivery, stakeholder relationships and engagement.
The IM Security Team delivers an essential business enabling function for Airbus Defence & Space. We take a holistic approach to security and work closely with our Product and Corporate Security to protect the IM systems against failure, attack and misuse. IM is the Information Technology (IT) business enabler for Airbus Defence and Space, with responsibility to support IM business services in the core nations of Germany, France, Spain and UK. The UK based IM Security Team of 8 is distributed across the 3 sites of Stevenage, Portsmouth and Newport.

Tasks & accountabilities

Mission

We have an urgent need for a passionate, self-starting team player to join our UK based IM Security Team based at the office in Newport. The job role involves wide-ranging activities and a special emphasis on supporting UK Governmental Networks and Infrastructure, as well as enabling the wider business function of Airbus Defence & Space. The successful candidate will be agile and deployable across the UK and EU, primarily representing IM Security to deliver advice, guidance and influence security in project delivery as well as the day to day interaction at all levels. The UK, in addition to its extensive governmental footprint, has company wide responsibility for IT Security Metrics and Reporting. This also includes Cyber Security Awareness. You will have a key role in leading these critical functions, drawing from IM colleagues across European and UK group business.

You will deliver and/or support the following core responsibilities:

·  Cyber security and compliance of UK Governmental Networks at Official Sensitive (O-S) and above;
·  Provide pragmatic guidance on security policy / process to projects and the wider business for the specific Governmental Network, and related general business activity;
·  Assist in the development of Security metrics from across the group business and generating meaningful management reporting with a view to becoming divisional lead in this activity;
·  Support IM community, the business and customer projects in creating concepts to find solutions in compliance with national regulation, technical requirements and business processes;
·  Provide guidance and advice in all aspects of cyber security for implementation of information systems by using risk management techniques to assess, manage and control;
·  Champion best practice and standards through active engagement with colleagues and the business and instigate awareness campaigns and initiatives in support of IM Security goals;
·  Develop & deliver cyber security education activities that increase managers & employees awareness of the cyber threat and encourage the adoption of appropriate behaviours;

Required skills

An interest in security awareness programmes and guidance would be advantageous as would any experience of presenting, administering and designing awareness campaigns, SharePoint sites, Blogs or similar forums in order to stimulate user participation, impart and influence key messages to raise awareness and aiming to improve cyber security in the business.

Whilst you will report directly to the Head of IM Security in the UK, you must embrace the agile method of project delivery and be flexible and willing to travel to our sites in the UK and mainland Europe. Although some travel (including overnight hotel stays) is essential, this is managed to support business needs and will be approximately 1-3 journeys per month. Flexible home working is encouraged and individuals are responsible for managing their time effectively to meet programme delivery timescales and IM goals.

The position requires the successful candidate to either hold, or be eligible to hold a UK SC Security
Clearance or higher.

Essential

·  Confidence in UK / International business travel;
·  Current UK Driving licence and Passport in order to meet job objectives;
·  Experience in managing security on UK Government Classified Networks;
·  Degree level (or equivalent qualification ) in Information Technology with demonstrable cyber security content, and / or extensive UK Government and / or commercial / industry experience in a cyber security related role;
·  UK National with SC Clearance or the ability to become SC Cleared is essential.

Desirable

·  Degree level in Information / Cyber Security or related discipline;
·  Current Certification in CISSP and / or CISM, or a willingness to train and complete either;
·  UK Government experience of Cyber / Network / Information Security;
·  Project Management experience or programme delivery in a HMG / CNI /List X organisation where RMADS, HMG SPF and/or JSP 440 were applied;
·  Experience in the Compliance and Accreditation of UK Government IT systems;
·  An understanding of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, NIS directive and GDPR.
