Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a US Travel Manager to join our General Procurement Team. Within the framework of the consolidated General Procurement North America (GP) organization, the US Travel Manager is responsible to provide expert knowledge in the area of corporate business travel and to support the needs of employees of various Airbus sites in the U.S. The US Travel Manager will be part of the Travel Management team within Airbus General Procurement, managing travels for over 1500 employees, being recognized and respected within the business travel industry by supporting global, regional, and local strategic initiatives focused on sustainability, value, and resilience while driving operational excellence and innovation.

The Procurement team's mission is to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, playing a major role in generating value and supplying to the overall competitiveness of the company. Our team members ensure on-time delivery and on-quality of equipment and systems, drawing on their expertise in Industrial, Operations & Quality Management, and strong relationship building skills to problem-solve and proactively mitigate supply chain issues.

Your challenges:
Drive and promote a sustainable travel experience for US Airbus entities adhering to the standard global Airbus travel policy and local / regional travel policies.

Management of the internal customer relationship with key stakeholders and advising the business on travel related matters.
·
Supplier relationship management with local travel suppliers, in particular with the Travel Management Company (TMC) as main subcontractor and fulfillment partner.
·
Definition of the corporate travel process and program strategy in collaboration with your colleagues of Travel Procurement.
·
Delivery of requirements for the “request for proposal” (RFP) process, reflecting Airbus Americas’ company needs and financial targets.
·
Deployment of the supplier set-up within the business as well as monitoring the performance and contract adherence.
·
Lead implementations and travel related projects. Build the implementation roadmap and design the communication and change management plan.
·
Execute the travel policy and develop methods for arbitration reflecting the company’s Ethics & Compliance rules and Code of Conduct.
·
Monitor the travel consumption. Build and deliver respective reporting to actively support the company’s travel strategy and saving targets.
·
Present Airbus Americas in multifunctional and/or companywide travel related committees.
Additional Responsibilities:

Drive non-flying procurement contributions to projects affecting travel and related commodities. Ensure strong liaison with all GP in the Americas, GP in Europe and relevant business partners.

A Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Legal or a related field is required.

Degree with emphasis in travel management
Experience (can overlap):
Required:

A minimum of five (5) years in Travel Management or related functions. Preferred experience with an increasingly higher level of authority and accountability.
·
Solid background in corporate business travel management with experience as travel manager or in a senior level position at a corporate travel agency supporting both domestic and international travel and applicable suppliers.
·
Proven technical proficiency with online booking tools, and travel ecosystem technologies.
·
Ability to anticipate market developments, evaluate the efficiency and the economic aspects for the travel ecosystem.
·
Experience with corporate card programs including central payment and virtual payment setup.
Preferred:
·
Travel market analysis, evaluating the efficiency and the economic aspects for the travel ecosystem and translating them into business value.
·
Experience working in a Procurement department with understanding of sourcing and contracting activities.
