Description of the job

A vacancy for a Systems Engineer for Armament Control Systems (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “Propelled Weapons Pods &Tornado A”.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Performance of complex Tasks in the Qualification of the safety-critical Stores Management Systems (SMS) for the Tornado aircraft
·  Support to Software Integration of a safety-critical on-board computer
·  Performance of Systems Engineering Tasks (Life Extension Programmes, Store Carrier Hardware Adaptations, Interface Assessments ...)
·  Support to the System Design of future Armament Control Systems
·  Performance of Systems Engineering Tasks for SMS System Integration:
·  Generation and Maintenance of Test Procedures and Test Scripts
·  Generation and Maintenance of Test/Integration Support Tools
·  Performance of Tests
·  Performance of Failure Analyses in Hardware and Software
·  Monitoring of Software Development Activities
·  Support to Flight Releases

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Completed studies in electrical engineering, physics, aerospace or similar fields of study
·  Knowledge on Bus Systems (MIL-1553B, Ethernet)
·  Knowledge Base in Electronics (CPLDs, FPGAs, Embedded HW Systems)
·  Basic Knowledge in Programming Languages (Assembler, C, Delphi)
·  Basic Knowledge in MS Windows and MS Office
·  Analytical and structured way of working is mandatory
·  Willingness to work and perform in a team is mandatory
·  Willingness to learn and develop is mandatory
·  High level of self-motivation is mandatory
·  Knowledge of the Tornado would be beneficial
·  Network in the German Air Force would be beneficial
·  English / German: negotiation level
