Job Description:

A vacancy for a Structure Test Engineer (m/f) / specialist in data acquisition has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse. You will join the structure Test Centre team.

The Structure Test Department is part of Material Processes and Test domain and is in charge of the definition and the performance of structure tests in static and fatigue to support R&T, development, qualification and certification for all R&T and aircraft programs.

In this job you will have in charge the test preparation, the test performance and test monitoring until the delivery of test results.

You will have the opportunity to work for all R&T and aircraft program with a large panel of customers (Stress, Design, R&T, Systems, FALs, Flight Tests, Plants,…)

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:         

Specify, operate and monitor test means dedicated to structure tests,  instrumentation (Hardware and software) and data acquisition systems

Configure and operate data acquisition devices in the lab or outside (FAL, plants…)

Configure and operate digital image correlation systems.

Configure and operate video systems (fast cameras, …)

Configure and operate standard test machine in tension and compression

Contribute to test Management Reviews

Perform calibrations

Coordinate some subcontracted laboratory tasks

Manage the risks and issues before test preparation and test performance

Insure that test processes and internal standards are correctly followed

Maintain good relationship with other test centres to share best practices, standardize and improve processes.

Bring support to answer to customer requirements (Stress, R&T, Programs, Plants, Flight Tests, FALs…)

Check and Deliver Test Results on Time Cost and Quality

This role will involve some travels for business once/twice a year in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

You will report directly to the Head of Toulouse Structure Test Centre.

Required skills:

Educated to Experimented technician or Master degree level (or equivalent)

Experience in aeronautical structures

Experience structure tests

Knowledge in instrumentation, data acquisition, digital image correlation, of software for data acquisition or load control systems would be appreciated (HBM, MTS, GOM,…)

Risks and issue managements methodologies

Good communication skills

French (negotiation level) and English (advanced)
