Description of the job

A vacancy for a Service Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in NEWPORT.
We are looking for a Service Architect to work within the team during bid phases.

You will work within the Service Design and development team providing service design support as directed by the HOD of Service design and Development for bidding activities for large or complex proposals and changes. Working in close harmony with the Ground Communications Service Team, Sales and Bid Management, ensuring that the service solution meets the customer requirement.

The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.

Tasks & accountabilities

This position has the following key responsibilities:

Produce the Service Architecture Document at the Bid/No Bid stage.
In order to produce this the service architect must have a thorough understanding of customer requirements, the Airbus
Service Portfolio, industry best practice (up to date with market technology, regulation, ITIL v3..), ability to compile ROM costs
and produce service models.
Manage & Own the Service Management Plan (SMP) at the proposal tender stage.
In order to produce the SMP the service architect must have a thorough understanding of:
¤ Cost Modeling,
¤ Ability to contract negotiate with 3rd parties,
¤ Produce service catalogues,
¤ Design service organisations (using ITIL v3 terminology),
¤ Produce SLA's,
¤ Produce process descriptions,
¤ Contribute service experience to transition planning.
To be a lead in the Service Design Group, providing ongoing support for the provision of continuous service improvement plans.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience
¤ Ideally a degree in a related subject or relevant experience
¤ Significant experience in the delivery of Managed Services the design of Service Solutions
¤ ITIL Manager/Practitioner
¤ Will have worked on a major project as Service Architect
¤ Service Management Design, Transition and Operations
¤ Communicating and influencing internal/external clients to resolve problems experienced.
¤ Excellent communication skills are required.
¤ Be competent in working unsupervised to manage problems.
¤ Compiling/updating processes/procedures and service improvement plans.
¤ Strategic process planning in line with the business objectives is desirable.
¤ Dynamic approach with flexibility to change requirements.
¤ Methodical and analytical approach is required.
¤ Working as part of a project team, understanding of the service market (toolset providers, service providers)
