The Secure Communications Sales and Marketing team are responsible for delivering the order intake of the business cluster. This role will give the candidate experience in both fast-paced and dynamic external marketing activity, as well as the back-office sales operations function, which is fundamentally the ‘glue' of the business, working closely with Sales Managers responsible for delivering millions of euros of orders a year.

Tasks & accountabilities

Ensuring timely delivery of high quality outputs for business needs. The Sales and Marketing Intern will support the business through two key areas;

External Marketing Activities - delivery of external marketing activities to promote Airbus Defence and Space – Secure Communications. Responsibilities could include:

·  Marketing campaign plan creation and execution: optimising the marketing and media mix within budget for maximum promotions/PR gain whilst maintaining message/brand /identity coherence
·  Managing the delivery of events and Marcoms collateral
·  Digitalisation activities, and campaign planning
·  Creating presentations for Leadership team for trade events
·  Keeping abreast of internal achievements and events to generate timely press releases with Corporate Communications
·  Working with 3rd party marketing agencies as necessary
·  Working internationally within Airbus Defence and Space

Sales Operations Activities – working closely with global sales leads in managing sales campaign activities for Airbus Defence and Space – Secure Communications. Responsibilities could include;

·  Work with the sales leads in developing and maintaining sales blue sheets for all sales campaigns. This also includes providing competitive analysis, pricing recommendations, establishing USPs and value differentiators to increase PWIN.
·  Work with the Sales managers in maintaining a customer relationship management (CRM) database and a configuration --controlled sales pipeline.
·  Work with the sales teams in establishing the win strategy for each sales campaign that responds fully responds to the customers' requirements such as performance, price, etc.
·  Work with Market intelligence to ensure competitor and market analysis is available to support sales campaigns.
·  Work in close conjunction with sales and bid management to ensure we generate a ‘value proposition' and a number of ‘win themes' that form key structuring elements of our proposal.
·  As required, support the Head of Sales Operations in maintaining and updating departmental processes, procedures and policies

Required skills

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Relevant degree disciplines:

·  Working towards degree in Business Studies, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications
·  Working towards, or ambition to gain formal marketing qualifications (CIM, Diploma in Mktg etc) (desirable)

Relevant degree modules:

·  Could include Economics, International Business, Business Operations, Advertising and PR, Communications, Digital marketing…

Technical / IT / Behavioural / Language skills required:

·  Excellent communications and presentational skills, good organisational, prioritisation and data structuring skills, self-motivation and ability to capture, consolidate and articulate clear strategic direction from complex environment
