Description of the job

A vacancy for a Single Aisle (SA) Powerplant Physical Integrator (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

You will join the SA nacelle stress and powerplant physical integration department in the SA team.

Nacelle are made of all cowls surrounding the engine, from inlet to exhaust, through fan cowl doors and thrust reversers.

You will be the AI technical representative for all powerplant physical integration aspects, in front of the nacelle manufacturer / engine manufacturer / program / quality / procurement / certification / customer service.

The powerplant environment is rich and complex.

You will have many opportunities to improve your technical and soft skills with:

·  Hybrid structures metallic/composite, light and hard metal,
·  Numerous aspects to be considered on top: fire, lightning, acoustic, aerodynamic,
·  Big supplier companies to work with nacelle suppliers (Collins, Safran Nacelle) but also engine manufacturers (Pratt and Whitney, CFM international),
·  Exciting SA program in between development and serial, with important challenges for airbus will allow you to improve your project management skills.

More generally, within the Airbus Engineering community, come and join Propulsion Airframe department.

Our mission is to provide all airframe design deliverables for pylon, air inlet, nacelle and overall physical powerplant integration covering the full product life cycle from R&T to in-service support for all Airbus programs.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Being responsible of powerplant Interface Control Document (ICD), Digital Mockup (DMU) integration and FAL installation drawing. You will manage the update and configuration in accordance with modifications of powerplant components (pylon, nacelle, engine),
·  Performing installation/feasibility studies including tolerances stack up and clash analysis to validate product changes proposed by engine/nacelle manufacturers,
·  Supporting SA production by assessing concessions from nacelle manufacturer and FAL, and by addressing MAP queries,
·  Ensuring a close link with FAL by analyzing non-conformities, contributing to MIP resolution and by proposing & leading improvements projects in the frame of SA ramp-up. These tasks will be performed in a Multi-Functional Team approach,
·  Supporting Airlines customers by handling daily queries and validating customer documentation (AMM, SB),
·  Managing Airworthiness issues and In service problems (MISP, RFW). You will also contribute to establish the risk assessment (root causes,..) and to provide all needed technical data to support the event closure (SB, mod..),
·  Leading projects in a continuous improvement approach: RC (Recurring Costs) savings, Performance improvement in the frame of DDMS, Innovative way of working,
·  Validating, coordinating and ensuring follow-up of nacelle / engine supplier activities to support these deliverables / activities.

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 5 years-degree in Engineering,
·  At least 3 years-experience in Engineering Design (structure, integration or mechanical system installation),
·  Good communication skills, ability to convince and federate,
·  Stakeholder management skills
·  Experience in project management and dedicated soft skills would be an asset,
·  Advanced level in English and French.
