An exciting opportunity is available to join Airbus Defence & Space for a 12 Month Internship based in the UK Government Product Marketing department. The department's aim is to ‘manage the lifecycle of innovative secure communication services and products delivered to Governments worldwide'. The scope of the department's activities encompasses product and portfolio management. Its products are end to end communication services, primarily those enabled by satellite communications. These include highly resilient communications for military customers and secure communications for other government departments worldwide.

The department provides the “glue” to make the business more integrated, cohesive and aligned. It drives sales growth through an entrepreneurial approach, encouraging a mutli-disciplined approach from across the wider business to deliver the new services required by its broad customer base. This helps meet our mission: ‘Pioneering the future from concept to customer'.

Tasks & accountabilities

Main activities will include:

·  Identifying market opportunities and enhancements to the product portfolio, defining a product roadmap and the Go to Market Plan. This will include understanding customer requirements, specifying services, developing business cases, influencing stakeholders, defining and supporting a product launch plan.
·  Organising the team's regular reporting and reviewing process, to manage the data archives in support of new ideas screening, project reviews, investment approval boards and team meetings.
·  Developing pricing policies and benchmarking our current and future products against the competitive market place.
·  Increasing the quality of customer knowledge by generating marketing collateral for customer shows and demonstrations.

During the 12 Month Internship, opportunities include:

·  Organise Live Demonstrations and marketing across Europe, United States and Asia.
·  Certified Product Management Training.

·  Close links to MoD and governmental agencies.
·  Travel and international exposure.

Required skills

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

·  Currently studying towards a degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering.
·  Ability to generate ‘eye catching' presentations.
·  Entrepreneurial, inquisitive and commercial skills to be able to identify profitable new service offers for our specific markets.
·  An appreciation of product marketing, business drivers and/or engineering design.
·  An appreciation of project management, the marketing mix and sales strategies.
·  Excellent communication and team working skills.

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
