As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year , that will allow you to validate your studies.

This internship is to be filled from September 2020 (the dates are subject to a certain flexibility).

The exciting opportunity for a 5-6 months Internship in the Tech Centre 'Airframe Dynamic Solutions' has arisen in Airbus Toulouse, targeting at students with special interest in finite element analysis methods, lightweight materials and structural damage and failure analysis methods.

You will work in a transnational team that is in charge of airframe vulnerability analyses (foreign object impacts and crashworthiness).

We are performing transient analyses considering various impact threats (bird strike, wheel and type debris, uncontained engine rotor burst) and emergency landing conditions (crashworthiness, ditching) to support the airframe sizing and certification.

The purpose of the internship is to develop methodologies and parametric finite element models to perform vulnerability analyses (impact analyses) to support pre-design.

·  Tasks and Responsibilities :

You will be working under the supervision of your manager who will help you identify your professional objectives and support you in the development of your skills.

The main aspects of the internship will be:

·  Review the current methods: analytical, numerical (FEA) for various aircraft applications (bird strike, wheel and tyre debris, UERF) .
·  Propose simplified methods and develop generic parametric FEM
·  Assess the accuracy of the simplified methods wrt real cases

·  Required skills :

You are preparing a diploma level Bac+ 5 - Master 2 student/ Engineering school final year, with specialisation in Mathematics, Engineering/Simulation/Modelling, Mechanics and you obtain following competences:

·  Advanced numerical simulation: Abaqus software (explicit solver)
·  Structure mechanics
·  Composite and metallic materials
·  Coding/programming skills
·  English: ADVANCE
·  Good communication, team spirit, taking initiatives

Depending on the specifics of the offer, you may have to travel to another locations.
