Job Description

A great opportunity for an On board Electronics & Hardware engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Commercial at the Toulouse site in France.

You will join the Electronics Products department, in the Avionics and Simulation products domain.

Avionics and Simulation organization is an in-house avionics equipment and simulators supplier. Engineers in this domain are responsible for the design, the development, the production and the support of critical embedded products (e.g. Flight Controls, Flight Warning, Communication, Maintenance equipment) for all Airbus aircrafts. This organization is also Chamber of Reference on Software and Electronics thanks to highly skilled and experienced teams.

The scope of activities also extends to other Airbus divisions and partners in some cases.

The mission of the Electronics Products department is to design and manufacture electronics for embedded equipment. The design of digital solution is part of the electronics integration strategy to facilitate performance, to challenge cost, to ensure the flexibility of our solutions and to meet all the requirements of our design office.

Within the Analog & EMC design group, you will be in charge of developing Hardware and Electronics Technologies ready to industrialize including boards or prototypes, implementing and using processes and tools supporting electronics development and certification.

As the successful candidate, you will help the department to increase its skills in the domain of Analogue Electronics & EMC , which is mainly used for interfacing our Electronic Products with the whole A/C.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Defining Hardware boards specifications and specific components specifications (FPGA);

- Designing electronic boards such as I/O boards (or power supplies);

- Opening the team competencies by specific work on R&T topics related to interfaces with A/C;

- Performing verifications (by simulation or by physical tests);

- Providing expertise through assessments, investigations, reviews within its field of competence for AIRBUS.

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies:

- Knowledge in Electronics, more particularly in Analogue Electronics.

- Chartered Engineer Aeronautical/ Mechanical / Power Electronic degree or equivalent;

- Good communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving;

- French and English skills, Intermediate both verbal and written are essential;

- The ability to work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team;

- Good leadership skills;

- Assertiveness
