This position is subject to the successful closing of the transaction with Spirit, after obtaining relevant regulatory approvals.
KEY FIGURES / DIMENSIONS
Total Recurring Cost base in 2024 is ~$100m for A220 sections. Reporting both operationally and functionally to the Head of Plant Controlling in Belfast, with a link of proximity to the Head of A220 Component Delivery Team (CDT). The role covers the end-to-end business area within the Plant related to these sections.
REMARKS AND MAJOR END RESULTS TO BE SOLVED IN THE POSITION

Guarantee full and accurate visibility of A220 operations on short, mid and long-term horizons.
·
Guarantee the assessment of all risks and opportunities related to current and five-year RC cost projections (CoP and CoS).
·
Ensure effective follow-up of corrective measures to achieve A220 cost and performance targets.
·
Guarantee financial reliability and accuracy of any Business Case.
·
Ensure implementation and compliance of Finance processes (planning, budgeting, and reporting), particularly with Internal Financial Control Standards.
·
Promote financial awareness within the A220 operational management team.
·
Contribute to continuous improvement of A220 and Belfast controlling processes through target setting (OP process) and KPI development.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
·
Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting, Leading and Mentoring
·
Serve as overall business partner to the Head of CDT and as an integrated member of the A220 management team.
·
Lead and coordinate controlling activities through streamlined budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across sub-assembly areas.
·
Liaise with reporting and value stream management (VSM) teams to ensure alignment on key forecasting milestones (FC1, FC2, FC3) and operational planning.
·
Establish top-down target costs aligned with VSM cascaded RC targets.
·
Challenge bottom-up planning to match cascaded targets.
·
Prepare and submit 5-year operational plans and annual budget.
·
Provide robust forecasting of RC costs against Programme CoS targets.
·
Monitor and report on process performance and programme-level RC unit costs (Labour/Overheads), inventory, and capital expenditure.
·
Identify and assess operational risks and opportunities in coordination with the Head of Operations.
Financial Consultancy / Performance Management
·
Evaluate project appraisals and business cases to support strategic decisions.
·
Lead teams in identifying business improvements and delivering cost savings.
·
Propose and manage corrective actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
·
Monitor discretionary investments, ensuring cash flows and NPVs align with approved business cases.
·
Promote financial awareness and provide guidance to management teams, ensuring effective financial controls.
Processes
·
Ensure consistency, transparency, and accuracy in all financial information.
·
Maintain rigorous data integrity and accuracy in actual and forecast reporting.
·
Ensure compliance with Airbus Internal Financial Control Standards (IFCS) and ethics policies.
·
Support continuous improvement of UK financial processes via active project participation and alignment with the Finance Balanced Scorecard.
REQUIREMENTS – OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE…

A degree or master’s level education in a relevant field.

Experience in financial controlling or management accounting.
·
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
