Description of the job

A vacancy for a Nacelle Acoustics Engineer has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) Functions in Toulouse. You will join "Nacelle and Acoustics treatments development" department.

Within the Aircraft Exterior Noise Integration sub-domain, you will join the Nacelle Acoustics group, that is accountable for the acoustic performance of Nacelle noise reduction components.

You will be in charge of acoustic activities associated to Program development as well as R&T innovation developments.

This position includes collaborative work with various Airbus internal teams such as nacelle integration, aerodynamics or structural design, manufacturing, but also a strong collaboration with international industrial partners and suppliers (Engine &Nacelle manufacturer).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Contributing to the assessment and the reduction of turbomachinery noise for Aircraft Programs. You will more specifically:
·  Perform engineering studies (analyses and tests) related to the nacelle acoustic liners specification,
·  Follow up the development of the acoustic liners integrated into the nacelles,
·  Manage the associated acoustic validation activities in collaboration with the nacelle supplier.
·  Contributing to R&T projects linked to noise reduction technologies and test means:

You will specify and analyse acoustic measurements on innovative acoustic liners samples,
You will optimize and specify an acoustic liner design for a future small-scale test bench.

To fulfil these objectives, you will use: analytical and numerical tools, component tests results, full-scale tests data. You will be responsible for the definition, completion, and capitalization of studies. You will contribute to its communication to internal customers and to technical discussions with external partners.

This role will involve some travel for business (twice a semester)and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 5 years' level degree in Acoustic or Mechanical engineering,
·  At least 3 years' experience in aeronautics,
·  Aerodynamics, acoustics or nacelle experience are mandatory,
·  Knowledge in aerodynamics, numerical methods, nacelle integration would be appreciated,
·  Autonomous,
·  Ability to negotiate and influence,
·  Leadership skills,
·  Innovation minded,
·  Advanced level of French and English is mandatory.
