The Modem Centre of Excellence undertakes fundamental research into and then the design, development and support of state-of-the-art satellite modem technologies. The group's remit extends to ‘adjacent' areas areas such as network security, baseband telecommunication and network management technologies. The successful candidate will be guided to become proficient in many technical and non-technical areas. In our experience these will become the bedrock of a successful career.

Tasks & accountabilities

Main activities of the role may include;

·  A keen interest and ability to understand modern traffic interfaces and control techniques and how they relate to satellite communications.
·  Using and developing your skills to allow you to design, discuss and review product solutions using requirements derived in SysML.
·  Using and developing your skills to allow you to implement your designs in VHDL, C++ or similar languages
·  Be involved in the test of our products technical capabilities within a representative system environment.
·  Be willing to support demonstrations of our products and technologies to (for example) internal and external customers.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  A keen interest in telecommunications systems, their technologies and allied subjects such as Information Security
·  Studying subjects such as Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Electronics or related subject.
·  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·  Good written and verbal communication skills.
