Masterand student in the field of Manufacturing Engineering technology development (d/f/m), title of thesis “Forming of Aluminum Airframe Components using Laser Peening Technology ”

· Duration: 6 months

Your tasks and responsibilities
· Simulation / Modeling of the laser peening forming process for shaping aluminum alloys sheets
· Simulate and model the laser peening forming process for shaping aluminum alloy sheets.
· Preliminarily validate the simulation model using already available small-scale test results.
· Define further tests to validate the developed model.
· Develop preliminary concepts for machine learning/algorithms for the automated programming of the peening strategy.
Desired skills and qualifications
· Enrolled full-time master student (d/f/m) in the area of aeronautical/mechanical engineering or an equivalent field of study.
· First practical experience with Python and Matlab is desirable.
· First practical experience with Finite Element analysis is desirable.
· Fluent in English, German is a plus.
