As part of a school curriculum in initial training , you are looking for a mandatory internship or integrated into a gap year , that will allow you to validate your studies. The internship duration is 6 months maximum.

A 6 months internship position for a Data Scientist beginner (m/f) has arisen in Toulouse. You will join the AIRBUS 'AI & Analytics' department (ZOZ) within the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) organization.

This internship is to be filled from 1st quarter 2020, the dates are subject to a certain flexibility to be discussed with the Manager.

The Digital Transformation Office leads the digital transformation of Airbus group, leading key digital initiatives, defining the group data strategy, and supporting culture change towards more digital and agile ways of working.
The AI & Analytics mission is to lead the most valuable and challenging data science projects across all parts of the business. It also helps to build up data science expertise the organization and pioneers new ways of working.

Your role will be to support data science projects as part of a rapidly growing and evolving team that works at the cutting-edge of applied data science. The team has a large degree of autonomy and high visibility to top management. The role offers a challenging and exciting personal environment as well as the opportunity to gain experience within the DTO and Airbus.

Task & accountabilities :
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

o Support the execution data science projects (incl. stakeholder management and communications)
o Performing hands-on work to build integrated data sets, analyse data sources (ML/AI), and build compelling visualizations
o Visualising and communicating results (e.g. in interactive dashboards)
o Presenting results to project stakeholders, including business experts and middle management
o Sharing knowledge, contribute to driving change within the digital network, presentations and communications within the digital community, dissemination of best practices (patterns), etc.

This role may involve some travel for business and as such, you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills :
You are preparing a diploma level Bac+5 in System Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science
o Programmation: Python, Spark, Scikit Learn, GitHub, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

o Analytics: Statistical testing, clustering, PCA, SVM, random forests, regression, neural networks
o Some experience (personal or previous internship) in:
- Executing data science projects
- Project management : deliver a concrete result to a customer
- Agile Methodology
o Knowledge / understanding
- Digital technologies and related challenges (Big Data)
- Mathematics, physics, electronics, mechanics
- Ability to understand business processes and build up business cases
o Languages
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Desirable: French or German and other European languages
o Team player: Collaborative mind-set and ways of working
o Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment, personal resilience to challenge status quo
o Curiosity for data and data-driven decisions, interest in business or industrial problem solving, creativity
