You will be part of the Human Resources Department for the Defence and Space division, working for the Centre of Competence (CoC) for Social Policies and Industrial Relations (SPIR). The key activities of the team are to provide social policies aligned with the Airbus vision and targets alongside current employment legislation, whilst assuring constructive and peaceful industrial relations. The team supports social processes such as TUPEs, restructuring and reductions. Also supports the wider HR community through advice, guidance and managing ad-hoc queries. Additionally, SPIR are part of the Data Protection Network, HR Communications Network and have relationships with HRBPs/other CoCs/HR Business Services and Operations (shared services).

Tasks & accountabilities

Main activities will include:

·  Supporting various SPIR and wider HR projects.
·  Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures and ensuring that these are updated on the Airbus intranet.
·  Liaising with the HR team to ensure HR policies and procedures reflect current employment legislation and best practice.
·  Assisting with the harmonisation of policies and procedures across the Defence and Space division and, where applicable, Airbus.
·  Creating data packs and information slides as needed for meetings etc.
·  Coordinating SPIR events such as briefing sessions for the HR community, Employment Law training for Managers / Staff Representative Committee and other events such as Long Service Award Ceremonies.
·  Researching, liaising with and booking European hotels to secure the booking of venues and other ad-hoc travel.
·  Co-ordinating the purchasing process for projects and other on-going work.
·  Supporting the wider HR team (e.g. note taking in grievance / disciplinary meetings).

Required skills

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Essential attributes:

·  Currently studying towards a degree in Human Resources, Legal, Business or related subject.
·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·  Discreet and able to handle confidential information.
·  Extremely well organised and methodical.
·  High level of attention to detail.
·  Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
·  Ability to multitask and prioritise.

Desirable attributes:

·  Experience of HR Information Systems (e.g. SAP) would be beneficial but is not essential.
·  Experience of maintaining or updating internet / intranet pages.
·  Ability to speak French or German.

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
