Description of the job

A vacancy for a Health, Safety and Environment Support Officer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse. You will join the Health, Safety & Environment team. Its main role is to design, industrialise and paint all the (A320, A330 and A350) aircraft assembled in Toulouse.

As Health, Safety and Environment Support Officer, you will act on one hand as a Local Safety Support Officer and on another, as an Environment Correspondent.

·  Implementing (REACH) statutory updates, and proposing and anticipating statutory changes.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and activities will include:

 Local Safety Support Officer:

·  Ensuring that health and safety management system requirements are implemented
·  Helping the legal representative of authority to implement the general instructions from the local Health & Safety team and from the health and safety management system (this includes the Health & Safety policy)
·  Supporting managers within the scope of the delegation, attending meetings on behalf of the delegate, as applicable, and communicating regularly with the personnel within the scope of the delegation
·  Suggesting fields for continuous Health & Safety improvements through regular contact with the local Health & Safety team

 Environment Correspondent:

·  Acting as environment representative within your sector
·  Deploying the environmental approach in the field supported by relay officers
·  Reporting remarks and requests concerning the environment
·  Helping to integrate the environment in operational activities and projects
·  Participating in drafting environment documents (analyses, Environment Management Plan (PME), etc.)
·  Ensuring cascaded environment instructions are applied
·  Identifying the various environment components in your sector
·  Following up environment actions launched
·  Ensuring the prevention of emergencies and incidents
·  Informing and recording any non-conformities or incidents which occurred
·  Preparing for and participating in environmental audits.

This role will involve occasional travel for business in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

As the successful candidate, you should be able to demonstrate some of the following skills & experience:

·  Educated to a Master's degree in Occupational Health/Safety or equivalent
·  Experience in an industrial environment mainly in series production
·  Good knowledge of the French Labour Code and Environment Code; knowledge of chemistry, ATEX risks, work at height, PPE/VPR
·  Knowledge of co-activity regulations: prevention plans, subcontracting and knowledge of regulations concerning VOC and atmospheric emissions, and waste disposal.
·  Excellent communication skills with a variety of discussion partners (you are able to communicate at all hierarchical levels)
·  Negotiation and persuasion skills
·  Your adaptability, associated with a willingness to innovate, ensure you are proactive
·  French: negotiation level and English: advanced level.
