Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Ground Handling Technician to join our team based in Mobile, AL.
Responsible for the safe off-loading of Major Components Assemblies (MCA) from sea and road transport jigs onto Final Assembly Line transportation trolleys and the delivery of MCAs to the FAL stations in accordance with the planning schedule. Safe operations of Overhead Cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 6.5 tons to 50 tons, all with multiple lifting configurations.

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.
Your Challenges:
·
Overhead crane operations in the Transhipment hangar, A320 hangar, Final Phase hangars, and A220 hangar to receive and deliver the major aircraft components applying a variety of overhead crane configurations and lifting devices.

Operating heavy aircraft tow tugs for the movement of aircraft into and out of various hangars in support of pre-Final Operational Testing
·
Ensuring aircraft system readiness and accurate configuration for aircraft towing operations, cargo loading, aircraft mooring, electrical power connections, ventilation for air supply, and cabin access.
·
Adherence to various policies regarding accurate recording of completed work and work-in-progress by using daily job cards to record activities.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent Experience:

3 years experience with overhead cranes.
·
3+ years experience in aviation ramp operations

3+ years experience with heavy equipment.
This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
