Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

The Processor Systems team develops state-of-the-art DSP payloads for satellites on a variety of exciting space projects for a range of UK and international customers. Our products form the heart of modern telecommunications satellite payloads, handling many thousands of channels and are required to operate continuously and reliably, for many years, in the harsh environment of space. Currently we are developing our 5th generation DSP processor technology to boost our capability at least tenfold. Our work covers research and development, manufacture and test of electronics, and in-orbit operational support, as we are involved with all phases from early concept through to delivery and operation. We work closely with hardware engineers, ASIC / FPGA designers, systems engineers and test engineers as well as the end customer.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Concept feasibility and generation of new ideas.
·  Digital signal processing algorithm design, simulation and analysis.
·  Development of digital processor architectural design and specification, flowing down from customer requirements.
·  Laboratory prototyping and testing of new processor designs.
·  Working with the customer to define initial requirements, and supporting design and validation reviews.

Required skills

Minimum level 2.1 or equivalent in one of the following degree subjects;

·  Physics
·  Electronic Engineering
·  Mathematics
·  Computer Science

Relevant degree modules:

·  system engineering
·  digital communications
·  digital signal processing
·  FPGA design

Technical / IT / Behavioural / Language skills required:

·  C/C++

Experience required (e.g. work experience / clubs / societies / charity work / hobbies etc.):

·  evidence of excellent analytical and problem solving skills in any domain
·  evidence of team work, communication and presentational skills

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.

This role will be based in Stevenage and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
