Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Airbus Defence & Space Intelligence is a leading provider of optical and satellite imagery, geographic information products, software and services delivering geographic information solutions into both private and public sector organisations worldwide. We offer a comprehensive product and services portfolio covering the entire geographic information services value chain – data acquisition and processing, imagery analysis and interpretation, hosting and delivery of large datasets, as well as GIS development and consultancy.

The Hosting Solutions and Earth Observation services provide a portfolio and suite of products which provides insight and intelligence to our customers across the world using a range of datasets and tools. As part of our services we also provide portals which enable the discovery, view, order and delivery of large volumes of geospatial data. Our solutions can be hosted in our private data centre, on the cloud or on client's premises and is developed using a range of technologies (COTS and FOSS).

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Work with the engineering, earth observation and data management teams to maintain and enhance our solutions and services
·  Carry out research and development assignments in support of the Group's objectives.
·  Provide technical input into the software development cycles.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

·  At minimum, a 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification in Geographical Information Systems, Geology, Computer Science or related subject.
·  Experience of programming, e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript.
·  Strong analytical and communication skills.
·  Able to work under own initiative and acquire new skills and knowledge.
·  Good team working skills.
·  Proven problem solving skills and adaptability

Desirable attributes:

·  Experience of Geographic Information System (GIS) software (ESRI ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
·  Experience of analysing and processing spatial data.
·  Use of databases.

This role will be based in Guildford and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
