Job Description

Accountabilities

As an employee of Aerostack, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, and in line with Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development and build competences and skills in the technology domain, the jobholder will be accountable for:

· 
Defining membrane and ionomer specification

· 
Correlating membrane design with MEA

· 
Technical focal point for suppliers in collaboration with procurement

· 
Ex-situ evaluation of membranes

· 
Assembling of test-cells and communication with in-situ testing team

· 
Guidance of experimental membrane evaluation and results interpretation

· 
Support modelling team with membrane data and specification

· 
Definition of testing protocols 

· 
Support CCM engineer in electrode design

Main responsibilities

· 
Developing and validating membrane designs according to customer requirement

· 
Definition of membrane and ionomer specification

· 
Definition of ex-situ testing protocols

· 
Support development of accelerated stress test protocols

Organization structure

The job holder reports operationally and functionally to the Head of MEA R&D of Aerostack

Skills

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following competences & skills:

· 
Master degree in polymer chemistry

· 
Knowledge of PEM fuel cell technology and polymer chemistry

· 
Knowledge in degradation and failure mechanism of fuel cell membranes

· 
Experience in working in a laboratory environment including safety concepts

· 
Experience in manufacturing of fuel cell components

· 
Experience in in-situ and ex-situ characterization of fuel cell components

· 
Pragmatic mindset and ambition in simplicity

· 
English fluently, German & French are a benefit
