Job Description:

A vacancy has arisen at Airbus Toulouse for a position of Energetics & Systems Thermal Engineer (m/f) . The successful applicant will join the Thermal Analysis Team.

You will be responsible for providing thermal studies in the context of Zero-Emission (ZeroE) activities. In the context of Airbus Research & Technology (R&T), your main activities will be:

· 
Managing the thermal analysis for the thermal design

· 
Demonstrating the airframe & systems thermal integration.

· 
Running simulations to provide design sensitivities and support the decision making process at project or Chief Engineering level.

· 
Contributing to the safety activities in particular to assess the design impacts due to failures of cryogenic features.

· 
Supporting the ground phase and operability aspects.

The scope of the role also includes the possible participation to activities on the legacy Airbus programmes and the support to manufacturing.

The job requires interactions with a large community of stakeholders: Airbus engineering community and thermal engineers, Airbus subcontractors, Airbus India, external industrial and academic partners.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

· 
Participating to multi-disciplinary technical challenges related to hydrogen in a multicultural transnational project team,

· 
Defining the activity and the deliverables, building the plan (scheduling, cost),

· 
Developing or supervising the development of numerical models of various complexity,

· 
Performing the analyses, validating and delivering to the customer,

· 
Interfacing with other players of the project to ensure a robust multidisciplinary process,

· 
Feeding the technical discussions to support decision making on product architecture,

· 
Providing support to design engineers for all programmes on thermal issues - recommendations, design precautions, etc.

· 
For specific test campaigns (inside or outside Airbus premises): specifying the test instrumentation, the test protocols, participating to the test as part of the test team.

Required skills:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and competences:

Education:

· 
Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent, PhD

· 
Advanced level in English, both written and verbal is a must.

Competences & experience:

· 
Experience in aerospace and/or in cryogenics technologies,

· 
Knowledge of Thermal and Thermodynamics fundamental,

· 
Knowledge of MBSE principles

· 
Modelling and simulation applied to the field of thermal : 0D/1D to 3D modelling

· 
Knowledge of Siemens thermal tools (NX-TMG / AMESIM)

· 
Project management experience

· 
Abilities to code in Python

· 
Knowledge of test engineering techniques and work in an experimental environment

Other competencies that would be a great asset:

· 
Knowledge in fluids mechanics would be a plus

· 
Previous experience with CFD (Fluent, Star-CCM+, …) would be a plus

· 
Knowledge aircraft systems design principles, culture on MBSE and thermal applied to systems would be a plus, including the integration of high power sources

· 
Knowledge of the Agile methodology (SAFE) would be a plus
