An Airbus Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications with no fees, whilst acquiring new skills through vocational training, and a regular salary.

Within Customer Services, In-Service Support are responsible for any Airbus aircraft across the whole fleet; to support both current production aircraft and an ageing fleet. Customer Services Engineering Apprentices will provide technical support to both suppliers and internal Customer Services colleagues.

As a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice at Airbus you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Aeronautical
Engineering, as well as a Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Technical Support upon completion of our 40 month programme.

As a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice, you will study with our Educational Training Partner to achieve your qualifications, and your industry based work takes place at our world leading aircraft manufacturer site in Filton, Bristol.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your first year on the Customer Services Engineering Apprenticeship programme will be spent completing the Level 2 Foundation course in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. You will then go on to develop your skill and technical knowledge through a combination of college study and on the job work and training.

Alongside your studies you can expect to undertake a number of work placements at Airbus within the following areas of Customer Services:

- Systems and structural maintenance
- Service bulletin for modifications
- Ground support tooling
- Technical data
- Spares Engineering

In addition to your work placements and studies, the apprenticeship offers a number of valuable training opportunities covering a variety of subjects (e.g. quality, supply chain, repair solutions, design) as well as ad-hoc project work from a variety of sources worldwide.

Part of the future role of a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice will involve working with suppliers to establish an understanding of capability and manufacturing capacity, and become familiar with the variety of manufacturing techniques.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

As the successful candidate you must be able to demonstrate the following;

- Five GCSEs at Grade C or 4, which must include Maths, English Language and Science (core and additional, or physics if taken as separate subjects).

We will also consider other qualifications in place of the other 2 GCSE’s such as: Engineering BTEC Level 2, Engineering Diploma, Principle Learning, PEO Level 2, Pathways to Apprenticeships
