We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join Airbus Defence & Space, in either our Guildford or Newcastle upon Tyne offices. You will join our Connected Intelligence group and report to our Head of Solutions Engineering.

The applications we serve are manifold and include maritime surveillance, precision agriculture, emergency response and environmental monitoring.
As world-leading experts in geo-information and defence solutions, we help decision makers to increase security, optimise mission planning, improve management of resources and protect our environment.
You will provide technical architecture leadership on cloud infrastructure to support the delivery of state of the art solution to the Airbus Intelligence UK programme.
You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Acts as visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future IT Products & Services and validates product designs.
Collaborates with other Architects, systems analysts, and developers to deliver the highest quality solutions via cutting edge technologies.
Defines models, including solution patterns, to guide solution decisions.
Participates in all phases of the application development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support.
Aligns architecture strategy with the organization's business goals and long- term strategic planning for the organization's Information systems.
Performs the technical/functional design of the application and infrastructure components of a new solution according to the defined functional design.
Provides an expertise on Business processes, change management transformation, function improvement and technology enablement for Business processes re-engineering and supports architects during projects.
Your role will likely involve some travel, predominantly between the Guildford and Newcastle sites.
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience working in a similar role as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect
A good knowledge of AWS
Experience working with RedHat Openshift or similar
