Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Airbus Broughton to join the Manufacturing Engineering Technologies team within the Manufacturing Engineering organisation.

We have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Industry 4.0, Digitalisation, Data management and Innovation.  We are looking for a skilled individual to create and develop drilling & assembly technologies, improve processes, implement new strategies and support solutions that will make Industry 4.0 a tangible reality for the Broughton plant.

Tasks & accountabilities

The successful applicant will have the autonomy to develop and deliver new projects on behalf of the manufacturing technologies drilling team.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside the Manufacturing Engineering Innovation cell to identify opportunities to develop and implement new digitalisation technologies and ways of working for use across the plant.

-  Define the requirements for new drilling & assembly technologies, based on business pain points through big data analysis.  Manage the subsequent introduction, test, acceptance and entry into service.

-  Develop improvement ideas and new processes for existing drilling & assembly tooling.

-  Manage projects and lead multi-functional teams to deliver actions on time and cost.

-  Provide automated assembly machine support to other Airbus departments and suppliers.

-  Provide problem solving expertise, technical knowledge and machine data analysis to support innovation.

Required Skills

As the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

Education:

-  Educated to Degree / HND level or equivalent experience / training / education in a relevant area i.e. Engineering and or Aeronautical.

Technical / skills:

Industry 4.0 is contingent on skills in unlocking data and using analytic tools in creative and efficient ways;

-  Experience with Technological enablers, such as an agile and highly functional IT infrastructure with well-designed user interfaces.

-  Ability to establish cross-functional analytics skills, tied closely to the strategic priorities of the whole enterprise.

-  Be able to develop the means to combining data from different parts of the business and apply those techniques.

-  Learn to get value out of data through intelligent systems design, using real-time analytics to develop solutions and continually improve our processes.

-  Fluent English negotiation level (commercial and technical).

-  Analytical skills / Problem solving skills.
