Job Description

This individual is responsible for preparation and deployment of test equipment for the electrical & thermal test phases of the project life-cycle. These may include any or all of the following.

Responsible for the generation of payload Synoptic (MIMIC’s) using J Synoptic software or any other tool enabling the automatic generation of Payload Synoptic.

Responsible for the preparation, setup and validation of test systems involved in the payload electrical test activities, this includes: the build and software setup and system validation of the Eurostar 3000 control rack; the setup of the electrical integration test set (“IDAS” rack or equivalent); the setup of thermal monitoring test set (“TMACE” rack or equivalent); The preparation and deployment of the Eurostar 3000 block desk consoles; the setup and validation of the payload power supply unit (“FUG” PSU)

Support of the above activities during the operational test phase.

Check performance of payload equipment against parameters detailed in test requirements and review results for non-conformances.

The role requires the Electrical Engineer to take ownership for specific Process Improvement actions (normally associated to tangible deliverables such as new test solutions or new processes/new methods); the Electrical Engineer is expected to take part in the Open Innovation process of Airbus DS and more particularly take ownership for any R&D action placed on the Electrical test team. This applies to Technological or Industrial Innovations.

Quality is a priority of the AIT department, the Electrical Engineer is instrumental in making sure we are delivering ‘right first time’ inputs to the clean room and in making sure that non-quality during preparation and operations is closely monitored and acted on.

The Electrical Engineer is versatile with working in a complex multiple stakeholders’ environment. The individual is expected to be a good communicator, proactive in problem solving and potentially customer facing.

The role might occasionally involve periods of support of test operations in the clean room where the Electrical Engineer will integrate the team of RF Test Technicians and provide support to projects on the shop floor, possibly joining the shift rota

The role is mostly expected to be on normal days (core hours + flex); however the role will require occasional on-call support, possibly shift-working to support operations and travel to spacecraft integration sites (mostly Toulouse)

Candidates may also be required to work weekends so need to be fully flexible.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
