Job Description

The Wing perimeter of Airbus Research and Technology focuses on structural and industrial aspects, resulting in the Wing Of Tomorrow concepts and ground prototypes.

Improvements will be possible using “Disruptive Wing” technologies, concentrating on wing performance. To enable these technologies, a need has arisen with the Overall Systems Design team.

The Multi-Systems Architecture Engineer (M/F) position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in France. It consists of a fixed-term contract on an estimated three-year long project.

Airbus UpNext is an incubator for different ways of working, and many processes are simplified to achieve maximum efficiency. New team members are selected by existing ones, procurement can be quick to develop fast, and a very flexible approach to telework and office work is promoted.

Your Boarding Pass:

Expected profile is an engineer, with experience in multi-systems design and integration. The person should have experience in more than one A/C systems domain, a Multi-systems architect under development is highly preferred. If the person has a background in MAP systems and/or systems testing, it is also a bonus. Of course, English is more than mandatory, as usual in Airbus, but even more in this project (strong duality with UK). Finally, it is paramount to be curious, open minded, creative, challenging, because in UpNext, we try new ways of working. 

The successful candidate will be required to work very closely with various other groups, like structure, FTI. He or /She should have good skills in practical problem solving and a good understanding of systems interfaces management and systems installation. 

Job description:

The job holder will work within the Overall Systems Design team with the main responsibilities as below:

Definition and specifications of the carrier A/C systems modifications

Systems interfaces definition

Systems installation requirements definition

New systems integration into the A/C platform:

Systems interfaces definition

Systems installation requirements definition

Systems – FTI integration

Support to autonomy systems integration with the new systems

Support to V&V definition, flight and ground tests for all Systems

Support to Safety assessment and Systems operational limitations definition

The tasks could also evolve during the course of the project, so being flexible is important. It is also key to challenge and adapt the requirements and classical design solutions to meet the objective of the flight test demonstrator.
