3rd Line Cyber Engineer

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cyber Engineer to join Airbus Protect in Newport, South Wales.

This role will be based out of the Airbus Commercial SOC and requires a strong cyber security professional to stand as an escalation point for all SOC operational engineering activity. You will be responsible for the transition of projects from the System Design team into the SOC operations ensuring impact analysis, capacity and availability management are considered prior to accepting new projects. You will also mentor/oversee members of the SOC Engineering team, ensuring all operational tasks are completed and work tickets updated/closed on time.

Your Tasks & Accountabilities

· 
Support SOC Engineers & Analyst activity

· 
Supports change & release management activity

· 
Toolset availability and capacity management review and escalation

· 
Maintain currency in security concepts, tools and best practices

· 
Engagement with the R&D Cyber Defence Centre for Airbus Cyber Solutions/Products

Desired Skills and Experience

· 
Good knowledge of multiple SOC tooling including IDPS/Firewalls/SIEM/Email & Web Protection etc.

· 
Experience of implementing and fault finding Firewall technologies including Cisco ASA/Check Point/Fortinet/Splunk

· 
Excellent understanding of network technologies

· 
Experience of Scripting and programming
