POSTE & MISSIONS:
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) programme is an international programme sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business capacity.
We are looking for highly motivated graduates who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).

VIE standard main requirements:
- European Union citizens, graduates up to 28 years old.
- Have fulfilled military obligations for their country.
- Have previous experience working abroad.
- Fluent in English.
Key points for VIE contract in the US applicable to this position:
The J-1 Trainee visa is issued to VIE participants who are graduates or graduating (diploma to be obtained at least 15 days prior to departure), who can provide justification of at least 52 weeks of full-time professional experience in a company(internships included). VIE participants that are not graduates can also obtain a Trainee visa if they have five years of professional experience in the same field for which they have applied. Graduating participants should obtain justification of a previous higher education diploma related to the assignment. The maximum duration of this visa is 18 months which cannot be extended.
Airbus is looking for a Sourcing Manager North America
- VIE for an 18-month contract, based in Herndon (Virginia).
The Airbus Group Executive Committee decided to set-up a Global Sourcing Network with Sourcing Offices in Strategic Countries with the objective to further improve Airbus Group (AG) sourcing footprint in these countries.
The mission of the Global Sourcing Network shall involve:
- Acting as an agent of change of AG Global Sourcing footprint
- Supporting AG Business Units in sourcing from strategic countries
- Supporting AG Business Units in formulating consolidated global sourcing targets
- Leveraging the impact of existing AG organisations and competencies as well as synergies/critical mass of Business Units
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
I
- PROCUREMENT MARKETING
Country Sourcing Profile
- Collect and analyse macro-economic data, risk, industry trends, labor rates versus regional locations in the three countries,
USA, Canada, Mexico.
Country Deployment Plan
- Support the definition of the AG sourcing strategy for N.A., support the implementation of the potential procurement scenarios
and follow ongoing procurement campaigns in the country, such as the new D2P (Details Parts Partner
- PMDB) top priority for
Material commodity (usinage.
Supplier Data Base
- Manage the N.A. detailed database of all suppliers in the field of aerospace. This requires interaction with all new / potential suppliers and updates with prior identified suppliers. Tasks gather information, draw-up detailed supplier profiles and contribute to the supplier evaluation.
Airbus Americas Supplier and Trade events.
- Support of events. Task include support in organising event, assuring participation and collection of supplier information while at Airbus Supplier Days, Aerospace Focus Trade Expositions, Supplier Engagement Events and Be an Airbus Supplier Training in N.A.
II
- AG DIVISION AND BUSINESS UNIT SUPPORT
- Support all AG Divisions and Business Units in their approach in N.A.
- Organise and provide advance sourcing surveys in areas of interest and support missions of AG Divisions and Business Units in N.A.
- Support and prepare response to BU Requests for supplier information.
Profile:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Graduate from a leading Business School or Engineering School
- Procurement background/knowledge
- Prior experience or high interest in the field of aerospace
- Knowledge / experience of N.A. aerospace sector a plus.
- Understanding of Airbus Group procurement challenges a plus
- Understanding of Airbus Group organization a plus
- Perfectly at ease with Power Point, Excel, Word, Database development and manipulation.
- Ability and confidence to evolve in a multicultural environment

- Rigorous, analytical, pro-active, autonomous and self-motivated.
- Interest in data analysis and manipulation.
- Strategic outlook.
- Negotiation level of English
