Purpose

Safeguards the quality of developed software.

Key Accountabilities

· Safeguards the quality of software engineering work (together with the team).
· Reviews code to ensure quality standards are met.
· Oversees day-to-day vendor activities in order to achieve high quality products with increasing efficiency levels of critical and complex initiatives.
· Optimizes/ reduces the amount of rework, thereby improving the total cost of development through standardization, re-usability and monitoring first time quality.
· Assists in the creation/ modification of software engineering guidelines, tools and processes across adidas Global IT.
· Supports the scrum master in transforming the working mode from waterfall to a full agile product development.
· Supports coordination of vendor activities.
· Is able to detect escalations at an early stage and involve appropriate stakeholders timely.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

· Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act comfortably with risk and uncertainty.
· Ability to manage complex projects on a global level.
· Ability to think end-to-end with a global mindset.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when interacting and collaborating with different levels of business and external vendors
· Strong hands-on experience in software engineering and development.
· Experience in test preparation, coordination and conduction. Knowledge of test automation tools.
· Knowledge of how to operate services and experience in CI/CD automation techniques and tools.
· Experienced user of agile/scrum methods.
· Mastering containerized and orchestration environments such as Docker and Kubernetes

Qualifications

· College or university degree with focus on IT or equivalent.
· Min. 3-5 years of IT experience, at least 3 years in software engineering.
