Overview

· To support the Knapp Site Maintenance Manager in his duties in providing a highly available automation system
· In conjunction with Knapp US technicians, provide a first class site response to the customer, ensuring as far as reasonably practical a first time right policy.
· Involvement in meetings as and when required, both with the customers and Knapp US.
· Provide emergency breakdown and maintenance support. On all equipment and software issues on the installed equipment
· Be part of the Issue Management and the internal escalation process on all related maintenance issues, in partnership with the customer.
· Create strong effective working relationships with our customers and your responsibility team, to enable Knapp to provide a first class service.
· Provide performance in terms of controlling maintenance activities on site, speed of response and quality of repair and standards of workmanship.
· To provide maintenance support on other issues as well as the installed system, when requested to work on these items when work loading permits..
· To co-ordinate a team of site technicians and third party repair companies on their activities on site.

The holder of this position reports directly to the Site Maintenance Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage a team of technicians on a shift based program

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain Quality of Service by ensuring good quality communications between both customers and Knapp.
· Ensure that reports are well written and legible.
· Implementation of Site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures.
· Regular meetings with the Site Maintenance Manager, and Knapp US head office service co-ordinator to discuss activities and progress.
· Involvement with suppliers ensuring their maintenance visits are kept up to date.
· Providing maintenance service support, to the installed system.
· Ensuring the company equipment supplied is well cared for and is always in a presentable/usable/maintained condition.
· Provide flexibility and the best use of skills and capabilities of the maintenance team on site.
· Ensure that all time sheets and documentation is correct and legible with all the correct job numbers entered, and presented to Knapp on a weekly basis.
· Ensure accurate reporting of absences and lateness to the Site Manager
· Carry out Return to Work interviews and Exit interviews with your team when required to do so.
· Communication with the customer’s nominated service contact on site co-ordinator as and when necessary.
· In addition the Supervisor may be required to respond to emergency calls. Weekend working will be a requirement and will be structured to provide forward planning.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Rectify electro-mechanical faults and specialist technical assistance
· Respond to emergency calls
· Safety conscious in all activities; track record of owning problems and taking them through to a successful completion
· Provide a first class response to customer, ensuring as far as reasonably practical a first time right policy
· Provide emergency breakdown and specialist maintenance support
· Setting up and calibration of precision automation equipment
· Create strong effective working relationships with our customer and their operational agents to enable Knapp to provide a first class service
· Achieve performance in terms of expected output, speed of response, quality of repair and standards of workmanship.
· Carry out installation of conveyor and special machines
· Maintain quality of service by ensuring good quality communications
· Ensure that reports are well written and legible
· Implementation of site quality procedures, safety procedures, and any statutory procedures
· Regular meetings with the Site Maintenance Manager to discuss activities and progress
· Providing specialist maintenance service support to the Customer’s installed system
· Ensure that all spare parts usage issues are logged appropriately and promptly with the Knapp spare parts team
· Ensuring proper care and maintenance of the tooling and equipment supplied
· Provide flexibility and the best use of skills and capabilities
· Ensure that all time sheets and documents are correct and legible, with all the correct job numbers entered, and presented to Knapp US on biweekly basis for approval

The position requires a wide range of skills including but not limited to the following:

· Mechanical strip-down/re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration and system testing
· Working against a timeframe to complete reactive repairs
· Interact with on-site management keeping them informed of repair and maintenance progression and addressing their concerns in a professional manner
· Show hands-on ownership of issues to achieve a quick time resolution
· Ability to interpret and work with electrical circuit diagrams
· Appreciate health & safety considerations with regard to given tasks and be able to carry out risk assessments
· Mechanical aptitude including the ability to read assembly drawings
· Operate hand tools and be able to assemble parts onto equipment
· Ability to follow set up instructions, assembly drawings and check lists
· Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills
· Excellent communication and customer service skills for both internal and external customers
· Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills
· Willing to learn and adapt to changing role requirements
· Appreciation of cultural diversity

· Physical requirements may be:
