Are you an experienced Workshop Manager looking for a new challenge? Our client, a leading organisation in the transport industry, is seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to join their team as a Workshop Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and contribute to the smooth operation of their Transport Workshop facility.
Location: Liverpool
Salary:37-40k per annum
Responsibilities:
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop facility
· Authorise repairs, servicing, and modification tasks as directed by the Transport Manager
· Set service schedules and report any slippage to the Transport Manager
· Ensure all vehicles are repaired within road transport legislation and maintenance manuals
· Compile and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a monthly and annual basis
· Manage all documentation related to performance management and vehicle records
· Organise and plan training courses for workshop staff
· Maintain health and safety standards in the workshop facility and conduct regular inspections
· Investigate accidents and near misses on vehicles and in the workshop
· Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers for lead times of parts
· Supervise Workshop Co-Ordinator, admin, and stores staff
· Assist the Transport Manager with new vehicle inspections
· Conduct regular focus group meetings and tool box talks
· Provide on-call support on a rota basis
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role
· Sound knowledge of transport workshop operations and vehicle maintenance
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Ability to plan and organise resources effectively
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practises
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
· Valid driver's licence
