Adecco are currently recruiting for a Welfare benefits and Money Advisor to work within a Local Authority based in Hounslow.
The Welfare Benefits and Money Advisor will provide support to residents in making and managing their Universal Credit claim including accessing and using on-line services. The role is responsible for providing advice, information and assistance around debt and the management of their finances. The role will support residents individually or in-group sessions through personal budget support. The role will investigate the claimant's financial and personal situation including digital skills, helping claimants to prioritise and budget to reduce debts and maximise income for residents.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
A thorough understanding and knowledge of housing and other legislation and the regulatory framework within housing.
Experience of working face to face with clients to deliver benefits advice.
A detailed knowledge of income maximisation.
Knowledge of money advice techniques including debt prioritisation and enforcement methods.
Experience of undertaking detailed benefits and/or debt casework as a general or specialist adviser in a Citizens Advice Bureau, advice centre or other advice setting either as a paid employee or a volunteer.
Experience of working using and maintaining financial records and IT systems and of producing and reporting on management information.
