ob Purpose

The role of a Web Content Writer involves creating optimised descriptions for property listings upon our websites and 3rd party websites. The candidate will be required to create unique and engaging copy that is both optimised for search engines and informative to our customers. It is essential that the candidate has a natural flair with written content that will ultimately inspire website visitors to make a purchase.

The role involves using a variety of techniques to discover and analyse potential keywords that written website content can be optimised with, to ensure our property listings achieve the best possible rankings in organic search results, whilst meeting our customers' expectations. Furthermore, the role will involve an analytical approach to ensure written property content is also measured against conversion rates to drive efficiency at the point of sale.

The role would be ideal for candidates taking their first steps in an exciting career within digital marketing. However, the Web Content Writer must have credible knowledge of MS Office packages, experience using content management systems and a solid understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) best practices.

Essential Experience

= Experience of working effectively as part of a team

= Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

= Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation best practices

= Previous experience within a content writing/SEO role

= Experience using content management systems

Desirable Experience

= Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (e.g. Creative Writing, English, and Journalism)

= Portfolio of creative work

= Experience using Google Analytics

Core Accountabilities

= Create, update and enhance property description content upon the website

= Create, update and enhance property description content upon 3rd party websites

= Proof reading content

= Undertake keyword research to ensure written content is optimised

= Use Google Analytics to monitor session and conversion rate performance of property pages

= Work closely with the product/conversion rate optimisation team to ensure improved efficiency and performance of property pages

= Provide the PR and Social teams with interesting properties that can be used as part of marketing activity

= Be an advocate for written content and be able to communicate its importance to the wider business

The post-holder may be called upon to provide support to other sections within the SEO Team. Movement between areas within the team may take place at appropriate intervals in accordance with professional development and business needs.

Any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.
