This position offers a unique opportunity to join a market-leading manufacturer of freeze dried products. We are looking for a candidate who has experience in a busy warehouse, is naturally enthusiastic and well organised with good communication skills. This will be a hands on, varied and busy role which will involve extensive interaction both internal and external to the company.
The ideal candidate will be a strong performer with a proactive approach to work. The candidate will be extremely organised with excellent attention to detail and good administration skills as well as the ability to prioritise an ever changing workload. They must be self-motivating and be able to work un-supervised and as part of a team.
40 hour week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm with 30 minutes lunch.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that inventory levels are accurate on raw material, packaging and finished goods by conducting physical counts and reconciling to the ERP system.
Liaise with suppliers and transport companies to ensure that day to day planning and organisation of the warehouse functions including Goods in, Goods out and Stock Control run efficiently.
Ensure that goods received into the company are accurately input in the ERP system.
Maintain and continuously improve standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the warehouse.
Work alongside the Customer Service team to ensure that the warehouse provides timely collation and dispatch of goods.
Work alongside production teams to ensure raw materials and packaging are available as needed, and that their finished goods are accurately accounted for.
Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment relational to the warehouse.
Ensure efficient space utilisation to allow for optimal on site storage whilst delivering the volume requirements of the business in a fast and efficient way. Furthermore ensuring that warehouse space and planned delivery schedules are compatible.
Produce reports for the company with regards to stock discrepancies and any other requirements.
As a hands-on role then fork lift truck use is necessary
May be called on to perform other activities or fulfil assignments in other areas as required.
You will be an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, preferably with a working knowledge of food manufacturing. The role requires the individual to have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to identify problems before they arise and set about a resolution. A strong work ethic and ability to prioritise is essential.
The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and will use of the company business system Dynamics NAV to accomplish job responsibilities. Must be able to work independently and make decisions and be able to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously to meet daily job requirements. The suitable candidate will have good inter-personal skills and be able to liaise with all departments in the company.
Candidates need a clean driving licence and will hold a valid fork lift truck licence (Counter-Balance and / or Flexi). Qualifications in Health and Safety and First Aid will be viewed favourably.
